First, we would like to thank Shane Hainstock for the years that he has been the President and a Member of the board of the Chestermere Minor Hockey Association. Shane has been a constant and reliable advocate for Chestermere Minor Hockey and has dedicated much of his time and heart into the hockey program for our community.
During his time as President, Shane has been instrumental in moving the association forward. Shane worked to establish and build relationships with Hockey Canada, Hockey Alberta and surrounding associations and his involvement with Chestermere Indus Referee Association has been essential to growing CMHA’s hockey program.
Other important developments lead by Shane:

Development of the AA program.

Instrumental in setting up CMHA’s bids for provincials as well the execution of the provincials.

Updating CMHA’s Bylaws, policies and procedures to be in compliance with Hockey Alberta and Hockey Canada.
-
Worked to set up the world longest hockey game, which set a world record.
Albert Snook Brief Bio: Albert has been part of the CMHA since 2015 in both Assistant and Head Coach roles. Most recently he was the Head Coach of the Tiny Mites program for the 2019-2020 season. In his professional life, Albert is a CPA and runs his own accounting firm. He is also the President of the Calgary Executive Association and has sat on the Board of Directors for the Calgary Old Time Hockey Players Association for the past 10 years.
We would also like to thank Jeremy Thiemann for his time as Operations Director. During Jeremy’s time on the board, he was instrumental in updating our evaluations to an online, tablet based format as well as working to support hockey development within the association.

Vacant Positions:
LEAGUE GOVERNOR(s) x 2
The League Governors’ positions are a requirement of CAHL. The League Governor is the Association’s membership representative on CAHL’s Board of Directors. The number of League Governors shall be that as required by CAHL and is dictated by CAHL at the start of each season. The League Governor reports to the League Director. The League Governor is a non-voting member of the Board and but are encouraged to attend regularly scheduled meetings
RESPONSIBILITIES:
-
Attend all meetings of CAHL (fines levied for non-attendance)

Raise any concerns/issues on behalf of CMHA at the CAHL meetings
-
Ensure CMHA is apprised of any issues/concerns/changes identified by CAHL
-
Perform the responsibilities as outlined in the Bylaws of CAHL
RHL GOVERNOR X1
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The League Governor’s positions are a requirement of RHL. The League Governor is a
non-voting member of the Board and but are encouraged to attend regularly scheduled
meetings.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
-
Be responsible for the operation, discipline and suspensions within the
division, and report directly to the Governor in Chief and member associations.
-
He/she must show consistency to the other Governors with respect to any
suspensions, fines, or rules which govern the operation of the League.
-
May not hand down any suspensions that exceed Hockey Alberta
minimums without the approval of the Governor in Chief.
-
May not hold the position of Coach or Team Manager for any team that
plays in the Division under the Governor's jurisdiction.
-
May not hold the position if his/her child is a registered player for any team that participates in that division, unless approved by the League.
DIVISION COORDINATORS - U13 (Peewee)
There is to be one Coordinator for each Division; U13 (Peewee). Each Coordinator oversees the Teams in their Division. One person can be the Coordinator for more than one Division.
The Division Coordinator reports to the President.
The Division Coordinator are non-voting members of the Board but are encouraged to attend regularly scheduled meetings.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Participate in the Evaluations process as directed by the Operations Director.

Participate in the Head Coach selection process as directed by the Coach Director.
-
Assist the Head Coaches with the appointment and/or dismissal of Team Officials
-
Assist Team Managers when required with administration and equipment requirements
-
To communicate CMHA events to teams in their division
-
To report to Coach Director on a regular basis
-
Assist and facilitate the resolution of any conflicts arising from players, Managers, Coaches, or parents throughout the year.
AA COORDINATOR
The AA Coordinator assists the AA Director in all areas as needed. The AA Coordinator reports to the AA Director. There is to be one Coordinator for each Division; U13 AA, U15 AA, and U18 AA. Each Coordinator oversees the Teams in their Division. One person can be the Coordinator for more than one Division. The AA Coordinators are non-voting members of the Board but are encouraged to attend regularly scheduled meetings.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Participate in the Evaluations process with the AA Director as outlined in section 7 of the CMHA Policies and Procedures.

Assist, if needed, the AA Director and Head Coaches with the appointment and/or dismissal of Team Officials

Assist Team Managers, when required, with administration and equipment requirements

To help communicate CMHA events to teams in their division.

To report to the AA Director on a regular basis.

Assist, if needed, with the assistance of the AA Director, Vice President and Hockey Development Director, the resolution of any conflicts arising from players, Managers, Coaches, or parents throughout the year.
EVENTS COORDINATOR
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reports to Vice President

Ensure 2 social events are scheduled for October and February each season.

Ensure that a CMHA representative is at all CRCA and City required events.

Work with VP to set up parade float.
-
Work with VP on Awards night.
