Respect in Sport Activity Leader / Coach / Officials
The Respect in Sport Activity Leader/Coach Program educates coaches and activity leaders to recognize, understand and respond to issues of bullying, abuse, harassment and discrimination. It may be the single most important training leaders receive to assist in creating a safe, healthy and respectful environment for all participants. NOTE: Speak Out is no longer recognized as a relevant program for coaches.
This course is required of all Team Officials registered to your team.
If you are on the roster you need to have this course completed.
If you plan on just going on the ice as a helper you have to be on the roster and complete this course.
If you are a team manager authorized to make decisions on behalf of the team and will be completing and / or signing game sheets as being accurate you must complete this course.
In the spring of 2017, Hockey Alberta announced that – effective for the 2018-19 season – Parents and Coaches/Team Officials would be required to recertify their Respect in Sport every four seasons. The requirement to recertify comes into effect on May 1, 2018.
WE WILL NOT ADD YOU TO THE ROSTER UNLESS THIS IS COMPLETED.
